SOUND FAMILIAR?
Why most trade websites stop working
It is rarely the design. It is that nobody has looked at the site since it went live, and the customers moved to their phones. These are the things I see every week when a tradesperson sends me their address.
- The site was built in 2016 by a mate's nephew. Nobody has logged in since, and it does not work on a phone.
- The number is in a picture, so it cannot be tapped. The customer rings the next result instead.
- One page tries to rank for every job in every town, so it ranks for none of them.
- The enquiry form is full of bots, and the real customers are lost in the spam.
- The Google Business Profile has the old van's number and three reviews from 2019.
- Something breaks, or a price changes, and there is nobody to ring who will fix it this week.
PART ONE: THE BUILD
Two weeks from the first call to live
You do not need to write anything or find photos of stock models in hard hats. You need to talk to me for an hour and send over your real job photos. The rest is my job.
Week one, the words
A call of about an hour where you tell me what you do, where you work, what you charge and what jobs you want more of. I write every page from that call and send them to you to check. Nothing goes live that you have not read.
Week two, the build
The site is built mobile first, because that is where your customers are. A page for each main service and each town you cover, your number tappable at the top of every page, your reviews, your accreditations with a link to the register, and the quote form with the slide-to-send guard.
Live, with Google matched
Your Google Business Profile is set up or tidied so the services, areas, hours and number match the site exactly. That match is most of what gets a trade found for "plumber near me". You get the logins. You own the domain, the site and the profile.
PART TWO: THE CARE PLAN, £39 A MONTH
What happens every month after it goes live
This is the part the other quotes leave out, and the part that decides whether the site is still bringing in work in three years. Cancel any time with a month's notice.
Hosting, backups and security
Fast hosting, a backup every day, the SSL padlock, and the software kept up to date so the site stays online and stays safe. If it goes down at 2am I know before you do.
The spam guard, kept working
Bots change their tricks. The slide-to-send guard and the pitch filter are updated across every site we host, so your form keeps sending real customers and nothing else.
Small changes, done this week
A new price, a new photo, a new review, a new van number, a changed opening time. Email or WhatsApp it over and it is live within the week. No ticket system, no quote for a five-minute job.
Google Business Profile check, every month
Once a month I check your profile is still correct, post a job photo if you have sent one, and tell you how many calls and direction requests it brought in. Profiles that are touched monthly outrank the ones that are not.
A plain-English report
Every month, one short email: how many people found the site, how many rang or filled in the form, and anything I think is worth changing. No dashboards, no jargon.
One person to ring
You ring the person who built the site, and he fixes it. I have run a plumbing and heating firm's website since 2009, so I know a leaking boiler enquiry is not something that can wait until Monday.
TWO WAYS TO PAY
Same package, your choice of how to pay
Both are fixed in writing before we start. There are no extras hidden in the small print, because there is no small print.
Pay up front
£1,750
fixed, then £39 a month
- The full trades website, fixed in writing before we start
- Google Business Profile set up or tidied
- Live in two weeks
- Care plan at £39 a month, cancel any time
- You own everything from day one
MOST TRADES CHOOSE THIS

QUESTIONS
What tradespeople ask
What is the difference between this and just a website?+
A website on its own is a job done once and then left. Most trade sites I look at were last touched the week they went live, which is why they stop working. The package is the site, the Google profile that feeds it, and someone checking both every month. The monthly care is the part that keeps the phone ringing in year three.
Is £39 a month a hosting fee?+
Hosting is part of it, but on its own hosting costs a few pounds. The rest is the daily backups, the updates, the spam guard, the small changes done within the week, the monthly Google profile check and the report. If you only want hosting, that is available at the same price, but the care is where the value is.
Can I cancel the care plan?+
Yes, any time, with a month's notice. The site is yours and we hand over the files and the domain. If you paid monthly with nothing up front, the two years has to finish first, the same as any other agreement, and then you can cancel or carry on at £39.
I already have a website. Do I need a new one?+
Often not. A redesign from £895 keeps your domain, email and Google history, redirects every old page and rebuilds the site around service pages. It then goes on the same care plan. Send the address and I will check it for free and tell you honestly which it needs.
Do I have to be in Devon?+
No. The build happens by phone, email and WhatsApp, and the care plan is the same wherever the van is. We are in Exeter and most of our sites are in Devon and Somerset, but the package is the same for a roofer in Carlisle.
What about extra pages later?+
A new service or town page is £120, written with you and live within the week. Most trades add two or three in the first year as they see which pages bring the work. Everything else on the care plan is included.
Who actually does the work?+
I do. I am a qualified heating engineer and plumber who has built websites since 2009, starting with my own firm's. There is no account manager and no studio. You deal with the person who writes the words, builds the pages and answers the phone.
Plumbers and electricians have their own pages: websites for plumbers and websites for electricians.
